Behind The Retreat is several acres of land that IU Health Goshen has decided to use for garden space. Sara Stalter, the Sodexo food service director at the IU Health Goshen Hospital, is coordinating this garden and using connections in the Goshen community to make it happen. The ground was tilled in the fall of 2015 and Paul Steury’s 7th grade science students from Goshen Middle School were there to learn from the process. In May of 2016, these same students will be the first to plant the new garden. Seed to Feed is providing seeds and starts while Kurt Bullard is providing knowledge and guidance for the planting process. The hope is to involve the Goshen Boys & Girls club in garden maintenance through the summer.
